The Graduate Institute of Science and Management, which is known as GISM Campus, is a leading higher education institute to offer world-class job oriented Degree pathway programmes in various disciplines for both Sri Lankan and foreign students. We are the education and research partner in Sri Lanka to world’s renowned Massey University-New Zealand, Edinburgh Napier University-UK, Amity University-India and China Medical University-China.
GISM was established in the year 2010 by its Founder President Prof. Dr. G. G. Senaratne who is a renowned academic and researcher in Microwave Engineering for foreign object detection & quality measurements. Prof. Senaratne was a former faculty member at Massey University, New Zealand where he obtained his PhD in Microwave Signal Processing from the same university and, he obtained his MSc Degree in Mobile, Satellite and Broadband Communication from the University of Westminster, UK. He is a visiting Professor at Sharda University, India where he worked as a Professor of Electronics Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering & Technology.
“The primary vision of the Graduate Institute of Science and Management, Sri Lanka (GISM) is to provide culturally and intellectually stimulating learning environment in which scholarship and creativity can flourish hand in hand.”
“GISM will promote excellence in academic standards from the undergraduate level to postgraduate level by adopting state-of-the-art techniques in teaching methodologies, as well as researches. The programs will be delivered by a panel of distinguished foreign faculty members, and reputed national academics to complement its constitution. Such an ambitious program will be delivered in a framework of “corporate social responsibility”, in a manner that is sympathetic to the needs and demands of Sri Lanka and its neighboring countries.”
The Graduate Institute of Science and Management (GISM) was established to introduce modern, internationally recognised higher education and research opportunities to Sri Lanka through strong partnerships with prestigious foreign universities and research institutions. Its core objective is to deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes locally at a significantly lower cost, allowing students to remain close to their families while preparing academically, morally, and spiritually for further studies overseas. Emphasising the vital role of research in national development, GISM seeks to combine global expertise and advanced technologies with local knowledge to address Sri Lanka’s social, cultural, and economic challenges. The institute aspires to become a regional centre for education and research and invites professionals from engineering, mathematics, science, medicine, academia, and industry to collaborate in building a better future for the country and the region.

President – GISM Campus
Over 36 years working experience in the industry and academia both locally and internationally. He is a pioneer in the area of foreign object detection using Microwave Inverses Scattering method, with many international publications in prestigious journals. His work on Early Detection of Breast-Cancer using Microwaves has provided him recognition world over.
He completed his MSc at Westminster University, U.K. and PhD. at Massey University, New Zealand. He is a member of the Institute of Incorporate Engineers of Sri Lanka (IESL), a former lecturer at Massey University, New Zealand, Visiting Professor of Sharda University, India and a recipient of the New Zealand’s prestigious Industry Fellowship.
I am pleased to send this message of good wishes at the time of the launch of the Graduate Institute of Science and Management (GISM). I have followed closely its development with interest, both professionally and personally in view of my close working relationship with the Chairman of the Board, Dr Galkadowite Senaratne, who has worked with me in our Institute for his Doctorate of Philosophy in Technology and thereafter. He developed a nice set of algorithms for interrogating the inverse scattering of microwaves for detection of foreign objects like tumours. GISM is an ambitious project. The founders are motivated by the most admiration of intentions: they want to further the professional development of Sri Lanka and its people. I send my sincere good wishes for its success and look forward to hearing of developments. I am sorry I cannot be with you to share your excitement.
Professor Graeme Wake FRSNZ, D Sc., – Director, Centre for Mathematics in Industry, Institute of Information and Mathematical Sciences, Massey University at Albany, Auckland, New Zealand.
