Programme Overview

This programme is designed for students who need to meet entry requirements for the Massey university Bachelor of Information Technology or Information Science pathway programmes after O/L. It provides students with a structured academic pathway toward globally-recognized undergraduate qualifications. This Programme aims to equip students with both academic and personal competencies essential for success in university education. The GIF serves as the foundation of the GISM academic portfolio by preparing students with foundation knowledge, transferable academic skills, and the confidence to pursue higher education.

This programme not only supports academic progression to undergraduate studies in disciplines such as Business Management, Information Technology, Engineering, and Life Sciences but also lays the groundwork for further academic mobility. Through a globally aligned curriculum and international academic collaborations, GIF ensures that students develop strong critical thinking, communication, logical thinking and digital literacy skills.

Ultimately, the objective of the GIF is to act as a gateway for Sri Lankan and foreign students to access high-quality, internationally recognized education—paving the way for academic and professional success in a global environment.

Entry Requirements

• Minimum of 5 Credits including Mathematics and English from G.C.E. O/L (Local or London) examination OR
• C.E. A/L with low results but strong achievements in O/L examination OR
• An equivalent qualification accepted by the GISM Faculty Board

Note: Selection will be based on a placement test and an interview

Progression after GIF in IT

Upon successful completion of the GISM International Foundation (GIF) in IT, students will be eligible for admission to the first year of Information Science and Information technology degree pathway programmes offered by GISM in Sri Lanka, leading to the relevant Massey University degrees in New Zealand: OR

To enroll in the Diploma in Information Technology offered by GISM and After successful completion of this Diploma qualification, students will receive a TVEC accredited Diploma certificate form GISM.
